There’s a lot to be gained from tuning servers. In today’s server systems there are 100’s of knobs that affect energy efficiency and performance of servers. Optimizing these knobs can result in significant performance benefits and reductions in the data center’s energy bill. However, the best knob settings for one application may perform poorly for other applications. Watch Tomer Morad talk about the opportunities of automatic software tuning in the HPC Advisory Council conference in Stanford.
